I've fallen so hard
it's thundered right through.
I've tumbled from heights
I climbed to with you.
Haunted by your scent
when I lay down to rest.
Surrounded by your essence,
finding no space inside my chest.

I've tried to turn away,
to live normal for a week.
I've tried to remain strong
and not let my tears leak.
I don't know what you've done
but I've never felt it before.
Snatched away so sharply
I can't feel anymore.

I sense remorse,
pain and sadness.
I doubt I will pass
if this is one more test.
There's a hole where you were
deep in my heart.
Not being able to hold you
is tearing me apart.

I miss you dearly
but I won't beg and plead.
If you take me back
I want it to be for me.
I don't want you to feel guilty,
sorry for what I've become.
If you feel you love me
or that you'd rather we had fun.

I'll fight your fears beside you
morning, noon and night.
I want to be your saviour
and make everything alright.
I want to be your equal,
your lover so passionate.
But most of all I want to be your friend,
no matter what our fate.
